Family

Family is considered the most significant institution of society and has always been one of the main pillars of our constitution, “the Kanun of Leke Dukagjin.” In the past, and even to some extent today, families were large, consisting of an average of 35-50 people living and sharing their lives together in one house. The oldest member of the family was considered the “god of the house” and was responsible for leading the family. From the age of six, everyone had a role and was responsible for contributing to the household chores and duties. This tradition still continues today
